On the 7th of August, the year 9 Dunlop group had their first day of city experience!

Day1: on tuesday the 7th of August we went to the Shrine of Remembrance.images.jpg
When we go in the Shrine we walked into this little room filled with old and many different styles of Army clothes, that were used by the men that went to war in world war 1 and 2. We all sat down and listened to a man tell us what it was like to go to war and all the things that would have happened during the war!
Many people didnt know what war was like so they thought that it was going to be an adventure if they joined the war. Many of the people that joined the war were just average man like a butcher or a shoe maker. They didnt know what war was like, they have never been to war, they all thought it was going to be an adventure of a life time! Until they actually got there! But before they even went to war they had to go throw some training up in Eygpt.
When they had finally finished there they were sent to France where the real war was happening. They didnt know what they had got themselves into until that very first moment they stepped out of th boats and onto land. They were dodging bullets running for their lives to find shelter! Most of these average men have never seen a dead person before, well now they have. There were bodies lying all over the beach and on the sand. This was something that would have stayed with these men forever!
As the men were climbing the cliff face towards the enemies the sun was coming up and it was much easier for the enermy to see there targets.
And this is why the soldiers of Australia have the rising sun on their badges, its a sign of world war 1 and Australias first ever fight in war.
After the man finshed talking about the soldiers he showed us everything that was used in world war one and 2 and he showed us how the clothes were warn to, with the help of Will. After all that we had a little history tour around the Shrine. When we got to the top part of the Shrine we watched the sun light move over the words in the Shrine and had a few minutes of silence for the soldiers that fought in the war for us.

After we went to the Shrine we had lunch. Me and Renee went to KFC. After we had our lunch 9D1 and 9D2 went to Urban Seed and we met a girl that use to go to Strathmore and she told us all about what Urban Seed is all about and what they do. We talked about the homeless people for about half an hour and then she took us on a little tour around the city and she stopped us ina few places to ask us questions and what we thought that place represented for a homeless person. After all that we went back to where the homeless people meet to have lunch and we saw all these paintings done by them and everything else they have done and i think that they are just talented people!

Day2: on the second day of city experience it was raining and we had the scaventer hunt. Me and my group were running around the city in the rain and we had a little argument about which way we had to go but we got through it and finally found our way. it was so funny.
When we had finished that we had lunch. Me Renee and her friend Kiama went to Melbourne Central and did a little bit of shopping. While we were there i ran into an old friend from kinda that i hadnt seen in forever and we had a good time catching up. When all that was done we went back to find out that the street art was cancled because of the rain so we went into the ACMI place for about an hour. We played Mario Cart and relaxed on the chairs.
When we finished that we had the choice of staying in the city (with parent permisson) or we had to back to school to be dissmissed. So me Renee, Isabella, Josh and Mikayla went back to school we had the funniest train ride home eating M&M's.

Day3: Today we werent in the city we were at Strathmore Uniting Church. We had self defence class which was my favourite part of the whole experience and then we had ploice come and talk to us about the importance about sex texting.
