1st day : Today we started by catching the train into the city to meet up with everyone at federation square. Then after everybody was there we headed off the the war memorial. We walked as a group to the war memorial and then when we got there we got greeted by a man who lead us inside to look through multiple things inside the shrine. At first we learnt about would war I, and all of the information about the war, and we also watched a film about World War I and about all the soldiers, and what they had to go through. We also went to the Shrine of rememberance, which is the room up the top which has the plaque which represents to remember all the soldiers who went to war to put their lives on the line to protect our country.After that we returned to the city, and we had an hour for lunch and then after lunch we returned to the group to head off to the next activity. The next activity we did later in the day was called "Urban Seed" and we met up in a uniting church in the city and we were greeted by someone called Bianca, who talked to us about homelessness and other problems. Then After that we were let off and able to leave or stay in the city to do whatever we wanted.
2nd Day - On the second day we started off in the same place but this time we had to do a scavenger hunt, which required us to find our way around the ENTIRE city while it was a very cold day and it was raining but we still had a good time. In my group was Me, Ben, Will and Jye. And we did very well as a group and we found our way around the entire city by foot and not catching public transport once which was a very good effort. And we ended up coming second in the scavenger hunt so our group did well. And the second half of the day we went to ACMI (Australian Centre For The Moving Image) and it was all about different games/movies and all these different things which was interesting, and it was a very good way to end the day by spending it indoors out away from the cold and the rain.
3rd Day - This day was a very laid back day, we started off at the school meeting up with all the boys at the school for a self defense class, while the girls met up at the Strathmore Uniting Church, for their self defence class. We were also allowed to wear free dress on this day. In self defence we learnt how to protect yourself in a fight or a situation likewise to that. After that we made our way up to the Starthmore Hall, where we met up with the girls to learn about sharing photos on the internet, and all these other rules about things. Then we leaernt about some other things including sexual matters and bullying.
